Welcome to the Official Website of the North Dakota Chapter of the
P.E.O. Sisterhood

On January 21, 1869, seven visionary young women founded the P.E.O. Sisterhood at Iowa Wesleyan College, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Their desire for a stronger bond of friendship blossomed into a "philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College; and motivate each other to achieve their highest aspirations." Today there are nearly 200,000 P.E.O. sisters in the US and Canada.

With the assistance of Winona Reeves, Organizer of Supreme Chapter, P.E.O. came to ND in 1906 when Chapters A and B were founded in Valley City and Dickinson. ND State Chapter held its first convention in 1915. Today ND has 50 chapters and nearly 1700 members.

We hope that our website will provide members with the information and resources to facilitate their work in advancing the ideals and purposes of our sisterhood.
